Karate for All
We offer karate classes to children with special needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, and other developmental conditions. Classes are led by Wayne Centra, senior pediatric occupational therapist with over 15 years as a pediatric therapist and over 30 years of teaching karate as a black belt. We also offer classes to typical students who are not diagnosed with any developmental conditions. All classes are fun and engaging for the kids, while still applying principles from occupational, speech, and physical therapy. Sessions include conditioning, motor coordination, social group activities, and many more interactive activities that benefit students immensely, regardless of age or condition. In compliance with the social distancing regulations, we are offering to teach our classes virtually.
